We have a water softner, and every few years we need to replace the icemaker because the teflon (?) coating begins to flake & leave specs in the ice. I researched this and found that it's not uncommon for less expensive icemakers. However, the icemaker is supposed to be a direct replacement, which it is, but the wire that comes with it is too short for my refrigerator, so I must use the original wire.
Product works had to reuse old harness
The Ice maker it's self looks like a OEM part. Mine went into a Whirlpool so I had to reuse the old wiring harness and the leveling bracket. If I would have known the units were this cheap I would have replaced it in the older refrigerator I had

This ice maker works great. I did need to use the wiring and a bracket from the old ice maker on a Whirlpool bottom freezer.
I needed a replacement ice maker for an older model Maytag. I found this one from Mccombs Supply. It arrived quickly. So far it works fine. it came with a power cord, but I had to use my old one, due to the length, no big deal. Very happy, didn't want to buy a new fridge over this.
