How To Remove Stains?

I should wear a bib during every meal. I tend to spill food on my clothing on a regular basis.

Removing stains sometimes seems like a math equation. By the time I factor the origin of the stain, the fabric type, stain type and color scheme, the stain concede that the stain is part of the shirt or sweater’s design.

McCombs Supply offers some laundry stain removal tips.

I learned several things by reading  thespruce.com. The key to handling laundry stains is to get them out of clothing before the clothes go through the washing machine.

Is your washing machine not working well? McCombs Supply has replacement  washing machine parts like the LP116 drain pump for Whirlpool, lid switches and motor for Whirlpool (part No. 389248A) . See our website for a complete inventory of  washing machine parts.

So the key to removing stains to act quickly. Try to pretreat stains with an enzyme-based detergent or other pre-treatment solution.

Treating the stains while they are fresh is much easier than scrubbing them when they are dried. Make sure to inspect clothing items before you launder to make sure the stain doesn’t set in.

- For chocolate, make sure to gently scrub with a solution as a soft bristle toothbrush and wash in hot water.

- Blood stains remove best by soaking as a soon as possible in cold water.

- Ink stains should soak for a few minutes with pre-treater and wash using an enbzyme-based detergent. Oh, always blot, don’t scrub, ink stains.

- Grease stains remove best by rinsing quickly and following up with a soak in laundry detergent. Allow the detergent to soak up the grease before adding it to your laundry.

Once your clothes are washed, it is time to put them in the dryer. McCombs offers tips for saving energy and money (see related story) when using your dryer.

We also have a wide variety of  dryer parts, including heating elementsthermostatsthermal fuses and belts.

If your stains are on a non-washable fabric, take the clothing to the dry cleaners as soon as possible. Be careful with dry cleaning solvents, always making sure to rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.

Be careful with bleach. Bleaching one stained spot may result in uneven color removal from the entire piece of clothing.

Remember to never put dry cleaning solvents directly into the washing machine.
